I booked this hotel and then read the horrific reviews...I had booked 2 twin rooms for myself and 3 friends overnight and felt responsible. However, we were pleasantly surprised!! Clean rooms, the TV remote didn't work but efficent sraff resolved it within 5 mins. Breakfast was great! Yes the rooms weren't big but what on earth do people expect for £55 on a Saturday night B+B in central Manchester!! Would defo stay there again!

Nice enough entrance (bar and restaurant/breakfast area), however general room, corridor, lift, stairs etc of a poor and dated standard showing little signs of good maintenance or quality.
Top Tip
Handy for Primark - if that's what you're after, but I'm sure there are more hotels in the vacinity that are of better quality.

Probably wouln't recommend, the room was dated, and if you were on the rather larger side you would struggle to get through the hallway of the bedroom. £10 for wireless is a bit on the expensive side.

The staff were excellent but unfortunately the hotel is a bit dated on the landings and rooms. Also the criteria of booking was not met as regards type of room etc.
Top Tip
close to Manchester Arena and numerous pubs and clubs. Also N.C.P. around the corner

The hotel bedroom and corridors were really grubby, should have been refurbished about 20 years ago! The room was the size of a shoe box. Breakfast was dire.... Thank goodness we only stayed one night.
Top Tip
15 minutes walk from MEN Arena, but there are several others close by - I would not choose the Thistle
